21 Confirmed at Bishop Gunter's Visitation

Twenty-one of Trinity Church's members were confirmed, received, or renewed their baptismal vows during Bishop Matt Gunter's visitation for the Sunday service on December 14.

"Trinity Church is a growing community, full of energy, caring, and devotion, and it was a joy to see all of these on display on Sunday," said The Rev. Dave Mowers, Trinity's rector.

While bishops visit congregations for Sunday worship as often as they can, due to the recent reunion of the three historical Wisconsin dioceses into the reconstituted Episcopal Diocese of Wisconsin, it had been a little more than three years since Trinity had welcomed a diocesan bishop for an official visitation.

Confirmation is one way people become members in the Episcopal Church. Candidates for confirmation re-affirm the vows that they made at their baptism; or, in the case of those baptized as infants, the vows made for them by their parents and godparents. In the Episcopal Church, the rite of confirmation is always presided over by a bishop.

Several members were also received or re-affirmed their faith during Bishop Gunter's visitation.
